Informal "Owners' Only" Shirt Sleeve Session Covering Issues and Performance Considerations
Unknown, Moderator
CIBO's "Owners' Only" Forum will convene for the sixth time on the Tuesday afternoon prior to the conference. Facility owners and operators will discuss NOx control system performance & equipment, operation, and technology issues directly related to owning, operating, monitoring, reporting, and premitting boiler sysems in today's changing environment. The emphasis will be toward bringing older and smaller systems up to new levels of controls being required or considered, and identification of what RACT or BACT should be in the real economically justifiable world.

Areas of discussion include the following:

  • Control application, operations, maintenance, safety and training concerns for existing units.
  • Emission expectations, guarantees and actual performance for watertube and firetube units
  • Emission monitoring, reporting and compliance assurance monitoring
  • Real world problems: i.e. rumble, swings, turndown, ammonia slip, and others.
  • the ability to burn byprodcut fuels and meet NOx requirements
Informal "Equipment Suppliers' Only" Shirt Sleeve Session
Unknown, Moderator
After a successful session last year, and based on the number of requests for continuation, CIBO will hold its third shirt sleeve session for equipment suppliers. Suggested topics for discussion and presentation in the general session include:
  • What do owners have to do to achieve sustainable performance from power and NOx control equipment?
  • What are the minimum requirements for start-up, operation and maintenance operator training?
  • What information should be included with project and/or equipment specifications?
Informal "Engineering and Environmental Service Consultants' Only" Shirt Sleeve Session
Unknown, Moderator
The architect/engineer, environmental consultant and environmental or energy service provider's role in today's project development environment is changing and expanding. This shirt sleeve session will address:
  • What company people should owners include on an energy/environmental project development team?
  • Does the Team come before the Specification, or the Specification before the Team?
  • What are the best ways for A/E's and energy and environmental Service Companies to work with owners?
Each group will appoint a three or four person panel to report on the session and review the forum discussions in the open conference session on Wednesday morning.
