Fluid Bed XX Conference
May 21-23, 2007
Embassy Suites, Lexington, Kentucky
If you are an FBC plant manager or own, operate, supply equipment or provide services for FBC, coal, waste fuel or biomass systems, or someone looking for a new boiler or power plant to burn solid or waste fuels, and meet Boiler MACT, this is the conference for you.
How Do You Meet Boiler MACT, CAIR, CAMR, Climate Change and Regional Haze with New and Existing Units and Burn Solid Fuel? Are Fuel and Ash Handling and Management a Concern?
With Natural Gas holding in the $7.00/MMBtu - Plus range and looking to cost more than 8.00/MMBtu at the slightest sneeze in weather conditions, solid fuel, alternative fuels, and renewable fuels, like biomass, are growing in popularity - "Back to the Future". However, unlike the past, the number of people who understand the fuels and how to convert them to efficient, effective and usable energy are much more difficult to find. Today’s Fluidized Bed Technology may be the only combustion technology capable of meeting almost all state and federal environmental requirements when using locally available and lower cost alternative fuels effectively for the small to middle size utility, Independent Power Producer (IPP) and Industrial, Commercial and Institutional (ICI) communities.
This year’s conference brings the current equipment designers, operators, and support personnel together to better understand the state of the industry, and continue the owners’ only and manufacturers’ & suppliers’ only forums with a joint review and presentation in the general session. Along with this, the conference will include: the presentation of the results of the reformatted CIBO Annual FBC Survey; the latest FBC technology and permitting developments; and a tour of East Kentucky Power’s newest generation FBC boiler facility outside Maysville, KY. Special emphasis will be placed on the fuel and ash storage and handling operations and systems. This should be a direct benefit to anyone currently using solid and biomass fuels. Special fundamentals sessions will be presented for those who want to learn or review what a Fluid Bed Boiler is, how it works and what can be done to optimize its’ performance.
